New Font you need

I was looking for a font with a slashed zero to stop the confusion between the letter O and the numeral 0 (zero). I came up with the font called Andale Mono. This is a trutype or ttf font. Most will not have it installed on their computer so don’t use it when making a web page. You can download it for free in many places on the Web, including my page at:
http://wb9otx.com/AndaleMo.TTF
Install it like any other font from the control panel.
Click on fonts
Pull down file
Install new font

Here is another way but harder to understand and you must use Microsoft Word to imbed it.

The above comes from Microsoft Knowledge base.

MyDoom Virus Spreading Rapidly

I read this morning the virus has spread to over 600,000 computers sence Monday. This is the fastest spreading virus to date. I received at least 20 emails yesterday with MyDoom attached. Norton’s got a work out all day. If you have not updated your virus software since Monday, Do it now. You will receive an email with an attachment containing this virus, this you can be sure of. Do not open the attachment and you will not infect your computer. Every one should have virus software installed, but even if you don’t you will not be infected if you do not open the attachment.

XP Hibernation - out'a here

Sent in by John Reid (A Guru)

I was looking at the contents of my hard drive earlier
and noticed a 2.8 gigabyte file! Called Hiberfil.sys

Hmmmm what is this and what happens if I delete it? A system
file can often cause havoc when deleted. I did a google and found
this ( a direct copy and paste from a forum ):

During hibernation, all devices are powered off, and the system.s
physical memory is written to disk in the system hibernation file,
\Hiberfil.sys.

You'll need to turn off the "Enable Hibernate" by going to:
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Power Options and then select
the "Hibernate" Tab and De-Select the "Enable Hibernation" check box.

After you do this WinXP will delete the hiberfil.sys file next time
you re-boot.

W32.Novarg Virus (Worm)

W32.Novarg.A@mm is a mass-mailing worm that arrives as an attachment with the file extension .bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip.
When a computer is infected, the worm will set up a backdoor into the system by opening TCP ports 3127 through 3198, which can potentially allow an attacker to connect to the computer and use it as a proxy to gain access to its network resources.

In addition, the backdoor can download and execute arbitrary files.

The worm will perform a Denial of Service (DoS) starting on February 1, 2004.
The email will have the following characteristics:

From: May be a spoofed from address

The email will have In the Subject:
(one of the following)
• test
• hi
• hello
• Mail Delivery System
• Mail Transaction Failed
• Server Report
• Status
• Error

You will receive this Virus, (I received it 5 times yesterday) It is one of the fastest spreading ones so far. If you do not have a virus protection program, GET ONE AND KEEP IT UP TO DATE. Do not open attachments from unknown sources. Do not open an attachment with the file name extension of ‘ .bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip ‘ from anyone till you ask them if they actually sent it to you.
