Email Noise

(Q.)  I received an email yesterday that as soon as it was read it played a WAV file.
How can I send an email the same way?

(A.)  To include a WAV sound in a message using Outlook Express:
1. Click anywhere in the message body window.
2. On the “Format” menu, point to “Background”, and then click “Sound
3. Enter the name of the file you want to include and the number of times you want the file to      play.  The WAV file must be on your hard drive or floppy. Use “Browse” to find the path to it.
4. Click"OK", Now type the text you want to send into the message body, the rest is the same as any other email, just hit "Send".

You could have found this answer yourself. Windows has some great help files. I found this answer by typing "F1", and then I typed “Sound”, up popped the above answer. Microsoft has included this feature into all of its programs. If all else fails, hit F1 and read the directions.

*** This is not a good idea if the receiver is at his/her work place. ***

Fix Microsoft Word

Q: I have Microsoft Word 2000, and would like to change the default setting for my documents. Each time I start with a normal document, the margin settings and font type have to be changed. How do I modify these defaults?

A: It is bothersome when you have to change your document settings each time you open up Microsoft Word. If you use the software a lot, you’re going to want to fix this annoyance immediately. Thankfully, it’s really easy to do.
To change your margin settings, go to the File menu and click on Page Setup. Set the page up in a satisfactory way, and then click on the Default button at the bottom left corner of the window. A confirmation box asking you if you’re sure that you want to change the default settings will appear. Click yes to apply the changes.
Changing your default font is just as easy. Go to the Format menu and click on Font. Specify the correct font settings and then click on the Default button in this window. Confirm the changes, and you’re good to go!
Modifying these defaults to something a little more acceptable will make your word processing experience much more pleasant.
