Free Lunch - an other one

I started out to tell you about a very simple check register you could download for free, but it is an xls (Microsoft Excel) file. You need Microsoft Excel or the complete office suite to use it. I sometimes forget that a few people don’t use (or need) Microsoft Office. If you don’t have it because of the cost, here is an alternative, its called “602PC SUITE 4.1” . It use to be free but now the cost is $39.95 if you download the files (27.8 MB) or you can order the CD Rom for an extra $9.95. Here is the URL to their page:

You say WOW $40, let me tell you this is a bargain as the full version of Microsoft office is $500 to $600 and 602PC SUITE for 99% of home users will be all you will ever need.

Now if you can't dig up $40 here is a suite called “Open Office” and I know you can afford this one, as it is free. It is compatible with Microsoft Office also. I have used this suite of programs, but it has been a few years ago. I liked it then and I’m sure it has been upgraded to be even better now. It is about 45 MB to download and like the other you can buy the CD and have it mailed to you. Read more about it here:
