New search engine

There is a new search engine on the block. It is from our old friend Microsoft and it looks like it will give Google a run for the money. I tried a few random searches with Google, then with the Microsoft engine, the results were very close with maybe Microsoft in a slight lead. Try it yourself at:

Messenger Popups "STOP"

Q:
How can I stop the Windows Messenger Service popups. I have a virus protection & popup stopper on my PC. However, I get 80-90 messenger service popups a day.

A:
Microsoft has a great tutorial written up for this, here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/stopspam.mspx

For Sale

I only have a few minutes, I just wanted to post the fact that my computer class has finished and it was a great success and thanks to all that stuck it out. I now have a very nice digital projector and screen for sale. The total worth is about $1,150.00 and is in perfect condition with only 12 hours of use. I would like to sell it local if possible. To a local person I will sell it for $800.00 this is if you pick it up. If no one wants it, it will go on eBay soon. If you have questions email me at wb9otx@gmail.com

Picasa 2.0

Many people know that Picasa just reached the age of 2.0. Let this serve as notice to those who might have missed that or those who felt that it wasn’t a big deal - you’re missing out on a Good Thing.

Picasa wasn’t released as a 2.0 product without changes. Remember - this is Google we’re talking about. Picasa 2.0 is a whole lot more than version 1 ever tried to be. The main new feature is the inclusion of an almost completely redesigned photo editor. Oh, it hides beind a screen that looks just like the opener for the version 1 editor, but now, it really IS a photoeditor, boasting nearly all the tools you need in order to clean up the look of your digital photos.

This is a First Look, so I'll leave you all to discover the goodies under the hood. Suffice it to say that Picasa has just joined some other very good software on my 'must install' list.
