STOP error reporting in XP

When an error is generated in Windows XP, a dialog box will appear asking whether or not you want to send an error report. If you have already sent in a report for a recurring problem or if you find this to be an annoyance, you can disable error reporting altogether. To accomplish this, you have to open the System Configuration Utility.

1. Click Start and select Run.
2. Type in msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Dialog box appears.
3. Click the Services tab.
4. Clear the check box beside the Error Reporting Service.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Restart.

It's broke all right !

I emailed Comp-USA to find out the cost to repair a power plug on a lap top computer, they replied very quickly telling me it would only be $139.00 to inspect the computer then it would be the cost of parts plus labor to fix it. Well it took me about one second to delete their email. I then called HP as this is the brand of the laptop. A nice girl that was from another country told me the computer was out of warranty. She also told me lots of things I already new. The bottom line was the repair would be $240.00 plus shipping. I told her “this conversation is over”. Now what to do? Sell it on eBay, try to fix it myself, or put it in the trash. After considering my options, I have decided to put it on eBay but first the hard drive will be formatted to keep from getting my identity stolen. I will tell the prospected buyer just what is wrong with the computer and hope he knows how to fix it or wants to pay the price to have it repaired. I have found in the past that things that are broken sell just about the same as ones that are working. I’ll let you know in a future post how I do with the auction.
